Overview
Back in the day, explorers would drag half-rotten carcasses across the globe, hand them to some Victorian guy who had absolutely no idea what the animal actually looked like, and say, “Right, stuff that and make it look terrifying.” The result? Decades of hilariously distorted, glassy-eyed museum displays frozen in a deeply weird, lifeless limbo. Drawings of Dead Stuff From Museums is an art book that decides to fix that. Through vibrant colors and fluid, expressive gestures, it blasts past the clinical museum aesthetic to give these creatures their personalities back—clipping the glass cases open and letting the true spirit of these animals finally move and breathe again.
